Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
This is a working draft, not a substitute for legal advice. Given Code One Support takes recurring payment from members in multiple countries, have these terms reviewed by a qualified lawyer before they go live.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Code One Support website and Code One Peer Support membership (the "Service"), operated by Rick Moore trading as Code One Support (ABN 27 391 825 377) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating a membership or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or hold a Code One Peer Support membership. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. Free content such as social media posts, the newsletter, or downloadable resources is not restricted by age, but is intended for a general adult audience.
2. What This Service Is — And Isn't
Code One Peer Support is a peer-led support service for first responders and frontline workers. It is provided by peers with lived experience, mental health training, and peer support training — not by licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, or clinical therapists.
- This Service is not therapy, counselling, or any form of clinical mental health treatment.
- This Service is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, contact 000 (Australia), your local emergency number, Lifeline on 13 11 14, or findahelpline.com immediately.
- Peer support is intended as a complement to, and where appropriate a bridge toward, professional clinical care — not a replacement for it.
- We do not guarantee any specific outcome, improvement, or result from using the Service.
3. Membership Tiers & Billing
Code One Peer Support is offered across three paid membership tiers (Peer Chat, Peer Connect, and Peer Plus), billed monthly or annually in Australian Dollars (AUD) via our payment processor, Kit Commerce. Current pricing is listed on our membership page.
- Monthly memberships automatically renew each month until cancelled.
- Annual memberships automatically renew each year until cancelled.
- We may change membership pricing from time to time. If a price change affects your plan, we'll give you reasonable notice before it takes effect on your next billing cycle.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancelling your membership
You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing info@codeonesupport.com, or via the cancellation link included in your billing emails. There's no lock-in contract and no cancellation fee.
Monthly memberships
When you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of your current paid billing period, and you won't be charged again after that. We don't provide refunds for the unused portion of a current monthly billing period.
Annual memberships
If you cancel within 14 days of your initial annual purchase, you're entitled to a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of that year. Outside that 14-day window, cancelling an annual membership stops future renewals, but the current annual term is non-refundable — you'll keep access for the remainder of the year you've already paid for.
Our right to suspend or end a membership
We may suspend or end a membership, with reasonable notice where practical, if a member is abusive toward a peer or staff member, breaches these Terms, or in situations where continuing the relationship isn't appropriate or safe for either party. Where we end a membership through no fault of the member, we'll refund the unused portion.
5. Confidentiality
What you share with your peer is kept confidential and is not reported back to your employer, union, or any government service. There are limited exceptions where we may need to break confidentiality — principally where we believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where we're required to by law. Where practical, we'll aim to let you know if this happens.
6. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on a reasonable-efforts, peer-support basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Code One Support is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Intellectual Property
Resource library content, frameworks, and materials provided as part of your membership are for your personal use only, and remain the property of Code One Support. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish this content elsewhere without our permission.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let members know by email or a notice on our website. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles — noting that if you're a consumer based elsewhere, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of your own country that these Terms can't override.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@codeonesupport.com. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
If you are in crisis, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 (Australia) or your country's 24/7 crisis service.
