The Story

Built From The Inside

Rick Moore has been a full-time firefighter for over 10 years. Before that, he served as an infantry soldier with operational deployments both internationally and domestically. Since 2014, he has worked with emergency service members as a mental health worker in grief and loss, relationship, and trauma settings.

He has sat with first responders after the worst jobs — across fire, police, and emergency services. Not as a psychologist. Not as a clinician. As a peer. As someone who has been to the same jobs, driven home with the same weight, and understands what it costs to do this work long-term.

Code One Support was built because the tools that help first responders survive this job long-term shouldn't only exist inside a clinical setting. Most people who need support don't need a therapist. They need a framework, a structure, and someone who understands the job to have built it.

That's what Code One Support is.

"I kept watching people walk away from hard jobs with nothing. No structure, no support, no framework. And I knew — from experiencing those same jobs — that the absence of that has a cost. It accumulates. And eventually it shows up somewhere."

What Code One Support Is

Code One Support is non-clinical and peer-voiced by design. It is not a charity. It is not a clinical service. It is a direct, experience-backed resource built by someone who has been inside the system — as a responder, as a peer support practitioner, and as someone who has sat in the debrief room after the worst jobs.

The audience is first responders and their families — firefighters, paramedics, police, EMTs, and emergency service volunteers, paid and unpaid, across English-speaking countries.

Code One Support exists to give first responders and their families access to honest, peer-voiced support — outside of clinical settings, free from corporate language, and built around the realities of the work rather than assumptions about it.
